Reading

Time Management for System Administrators

AUTHOR: Thomas A. Limoncelli
STARTED: [2024-08-19]

Cover of the book Time Management for System Administrators by Thomas A. Limoncelli. It has a picture of a wolverine sitting on top of the word “Time”. Recommended to me by a friend because they feel that the Cycle System described in this book will help me deal with my daily tasks a lot better.

Moving Pictures

AUTHOR: Terry Pratchett
STARTED: [2024-03-02]

Cover of the book Moving Pictures by Terry Pratchett. The sky is blue, there is sand on the ground, probably it's a beach. There is a troll made of rock lying on the ground looking up angrily. There is a blond, voluptuous, scantily-clad woman sitting on top of the Troll. Just above her there is a man holding a sword through her hair. There is a chef standing behind them, and there are hotdogs flying in the air, seemingly using the buns as wings. To the right of the man with the sword there is someone holding a video camera with a crank on it. They hold on to the crank and look panicked. Behind the camera man there is another person in wizard's robes shouting through a megaphone. Behind the man with the sword there is a dusty and large Oscar trophy statue. The next book in the Discworld series.

The Swords of Haven

AUTHOR: Simon R. Green
STARTED: [2024-09-01]

Cover of the book The Swords of Haven. A Hawk & Fisher omnibus. There is a mostly obscured face of a man with many scars and a short beard. And there is the face of a woman looking focused while holding a sword. I got this book in one of several Humble Bundles that I bought that I'm now trying to catch up with.

Getting Things Done

AUTHOR: David Allen
STARTED: [2022-01-22]
FINISHED: [2022-06-23]

Cover of the book Getting Things Done by David Allen with the text "Getting Things Done: the art of stress-free-productivity from the New York Times bestselling author David Allen; A brand new edition for 2015." And a picture of David Allen smiling. Great book about organizing the things that you need / want to do. I've been trying to use this method for a long time and finally decided to go to the source material. I'm glad I did. I feel like over all of the blog posts that I read and tips that I'd heard about how GTD actually works, there was a lot that was left out from this book. And I'm sure I've already forgotten a great deal about what's in this book and I expect I'll want to come back to it later, but even the things I have read I think will help me a great deal in organizing my life and feeling like I've done something the day.
